Antigua and Barbuda named among the top 10 in the Caribbean

Antigua has been named one of the top ten islands in the Caribbean and the Atlantic, by luxury and lifestyle travel magazine, Condé Nast, in its latest Readers’ Choice Awards.

According to a statement from the Tourism Authority, nearly a quarter million (240,000) of the publication’s readers submitted responses, rating their travel experiences across the globe – and Antigua was selected as the 9th on a list that included St Lucia, St Kitts, Nevis, Grenada, Aruba, and Jamaica.

St Barts took first place in the rankings, followed by Anguilla, Turks and Caicos, Bermuda, and Barbados rounding out the top five.

Reacting to the rating, the CEO of the Tourism Authority Colin James was quoted as saying “It’s an honor to receive recognition from such a reputable entity”.

He noted too that – quote – “it is the direct result of the efforts of our teams and our various stakeholders that ensures Antigua and Barbuda remains on the path to becoming the number one destination in the Caribbean”.

In the other rankings, the Maldives was voted the top island in Africa, and the Indian Ocean, Fiji in Australia and the South Pacific, and Ibiza in Europe.
