Bad weather cause flight cancellations in Dominica

The Douglas Charles airport was likened to a zoo on Sunday afternoon as several flights out of the island were canceled because of the inclement weather

Only two LIAT flights maintained their schedule however American Airlines and other airlines destined for the island canceled last minute

A woman with a connecting flight to New Jersey said she had no clue how she would manage because once she missed the Sunday flight, her entire itinerary “is messed up”

Inclement weather has been affecting Dominica for the past several hours and is expected to continue into the morning

The disappointment on passengers’ faces as they jumped into the taxis heading away from their destination was quite evident

The airlines promised to contact them once the flights are on schedule again. It is unclear whether they will be compensated as situations like these are looked at as an “act of God”
