Salvation Army brings good tidings and cheer to needy

22 December 2022 - 15:22

The Salvation Army continued its giving ways on Wednesday dishing out dozens of food hampers to many needy persons. The annual initiative is part of the organization’s annual Christmas food hamper distribution program.

The food hampers, which consisted of mainly nonperishable goods were distributed from the organization’s headquarters on Long Street.

Governor General Sir Rodney Williams says it is the organizations hope to include religious organizations as part of the initiative.

“We must not just be prepared to hold out our hands and take things; we must also be prepared to give back. So, I am appealing to you to help the Salvation Army sometimes in their outreach programs,” he said.

In total, 500 persons will be receiving a food package through the program.
