Bail application to be made for alleged cult church killer

The man who is accused of killing a woman during a cult-like ritual in a church in St James back in 2021 is to apply for bail.

According to news out of Jamaica, Andre Ruddock’s defense attorney is expected to make the application on April 24th this year.

Ruddock, killed Tankia Gardener, during a ritual at the Pathways International Kingdom Restoration Ministries in St James.

No one can forget that bloody incident on October 17, 2021, when the congregants of the Montego Bay-based church were gathered during a suspected ritual at the church.

The pastor, Kevin Smith reportedly instructed a congregant to slit Gardener’s throat and when the man refused, Ruddock allegedly grabbed a knife that was on hand and used it to slash the woman’s throat in the full view of other members of the church.

Michael Brown, another member of the church, was also killed during the night’s bizarre events, which culminated with an alleged shootout between members of the church and the police.

Kevaughn Palmer, a member of the church, who reportedly attacked the law enforcers with a knife, was shot and killed.

Smith and Ruddock and several other members of the church were subsequently arrested.

Meanwhile, Pastor Smith died in a motor vehicle crash on Monday, October 25, 2021, before he was charged. He was on his way to the police headquarters to be charged.

A police officer also lost his life.
