When it comes to vaccination per population, Bermuda is way ahead. That’s because about a third of Bermudians have received their second and third doses of the coronavirus vaccine.

Minister of Health Kim Wilson said in her weekly report that this is good news, as vaccinations are the best way to fight the coronavirus, protect our community and save lives

According to reports, Bermuda has been able to distribute 3,868 doses of the BioNTech original adult formulation, Moderna Bivalent and Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric from a shipment it received in September 2022.

“The coronavirus is still with us; although under better control, it is still a threat, and we must remain vigilant. Sadly, we have had coronavirus-related deaths, and I offer my sincere condolences to the family and friends who recently lost their loved ones. I strongly encourage all eligible individuals should get the coronavirus vaccination and get boosted on time Wilson said.

She is also encouraging islanders to visit their doctor or pharmacy to receive booster shots or a test to determine their COVID status, saying that both islanders and visitors are to remain vigilant and protect themselves from becoming infected with the flu, coronavirus or Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and other respiratory diseases that a prevalent during colder weather.

38 known active COVID-19 cases were reported on the island in recent days.
