Dignitaries from all walks of life, family, and friends assembled at the Ebenezer Methodist to celebrate the life of the late Dr. Sir Alford Walwyn who was officially buried today Monday. He died at the age of 97.
Sir Walwyn was a pioneer in the medical field who also served as President for many years, a leading eye surgeon, who provided decades of sterling service to Antiguans and Barbudans.
He was one of the founding members of the now-renamed Medical Association of Antigua & Barbuda Inc. in the 1950s and served as President for several years.
Governor General Sir Rodney Williams and Mrs. Williams, Prime Minister Gaston Browne and Maria, Police Commissioner Atlee Rodney, and other government ministers were present at the funeral.
Several medical practitioners also graced the funeral with their presence.
