Police have identified the man who drown in the vicinity of Rat Island today as 55-year-old Frederick Dick, a citizen of the Commonwealth of Dominica who lived in Freemans Village.

Police Public Relations Officer Inspector Frankie Thomas reported went spear fishing with another friend when the incident occurred.

It was further reported that somewhere in the process he disappeared and was later found floating on the surface of the water.

He was transported to shore and was pronounced dead around 2:40 pm by a medical doctor. The police are continuing investigations into the matter
