Classes at one of the more popular primary schools on the island were suspended abruptly after the head of the institution was attacked by a parent.
Christopher Roberts, a Anglican Reverend, has been the head of the Mary E Piggott Primary School for the past 8 years.
He was attacked by a parent who was angry about the fact that his child was suspended by the school recently.
Reports are that the man grabbed the principal from behind, knocked him down, and fled the scene of the incident. The Principal was taken to the hospital where he was given medical attention and discharged
According to reports the principal suffered severe injuries to the shoulder.
No security was on the compound at the time.
Education Director Clare Browne visited the school and held talks with officials there.
Aside from confirming that something happened, he said he would not be able to comment publicly until he gets a full grasp of the situation at the time.
Education officials are also working to provide counseling services for students who witnessed the attack. Some students were shocked and began to cry.

I agree with you. They bully young children, and then we wonder why children retaliate. It all starts at how we treat children to start with. Remember children must be treated with respect first, they are learning to become decent adults from us first.

This is really ridicilous I am really upset about this situation that occured to Mr. Christopher Roberts how many more teachers have to face situations like these from Parents and Students. I know there are times some Teachers might get over a little aggressive to the students at time but having Parents assaulting Principals and Teachers your child would have to be home school or attend another institution. That is my opinion.
That parent needs to get about 5 years in jail for what he did , send a message to any parents or student who want to think about doing something like that.
I don’t think that the would hit him in his face deliberately in his face. We all know when hitting a child they move all over. It’s an accident if the belt connects face .
