Drug bust at LIAT Cargo shed

Not the actual drugs

A joint operation between the Narcotics Department and the K9 Unit yesterday uncovered over $60,000 worth of cannabis at the LIAT Cargo Shed at the V.C Bird International Airport.

According to police reports, a joint Drug Interdiction operation with Customs Enforcement Unit was carried out at the Liat Cargo Shed.

During the operation, one brown cardboard box was searched, and eleven large vacuumed sealed packages with a green bushy substance that resemble the controlled drug Cannabis were found.

The box along with the substance found was taken to Police Headquarters for further investigation.

The substance found weighed 10 ½ pounds and has an estimated street value of $63,000.00.
