Bridgetown is looking to establish an air bridge with Ghana and Prime Minister Mia Mottley is optimistic that at least 800 Africans can make the journey between Barbados and Africa
Both countries have committed to working on making the highly anticipated and much talked about air bridge a reality.
Mottley held talks with Ghana’s Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Awal and his delegation recently.
She told them, “On our side, I know that we have been able to awaken the interest of Barbadians with respect to wanting to find out more about Africa,”
The Ghana government also gave a commitment to look into ways to fast-track the discussions to ensure the plan materializes
“And that is the benefit of what we bring together and there are so many functional opportunites that only require us sitting down together,” Mottley added.
Discussions were also centered around the setting up of an Afreximbank headquarters in Barbados.
Both countries established diplomatic ties in 1994.

This is a mature, upfront, and respectful methodology to initiate a lasting linkage of Caibbesn African air services.
Congrats.
