CARICOM not letting up as it seeks to have the US lift sanctions against Venezuela

Members of CARICOM are using every opportunity they can to put pressure on the Joe Biden administration to show its disapproval of the continued sanctions on Venezuela.

The latest such action was at the just concluded meeting in the Bahamas between CARICOM heads of government and the US Vice President Kamala Harris,

Member states told Harris that the US should lift its sanctions against Venezuela to allow regional countries to benefit from the PetroCaribe initiative.

They told her that they recognized that to address the challenge of energy security, there must be a balanced approach to develop the region’s hydrocarbon resources and maximize renewable energy potential.

“In the context of the bilateral relationship with the United States, CARICOM Heads of Government urged for the removal of sanctions on Venezuela to allow countries in the region to benefit from the PetroCaribe initiative and for progress on the exploitation of cross-border natural gas fields between Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela. The leaders also reiterated CARICOM’s consistent call for the removal of sanctions against Cuba,” the statement said.

Just Last week, Trinidad and Tobago Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Stuart Young, said his country was experiencing the collateral damage of the geopolitics as a result of the ongoing tense relationship between the United States and Venezuela.

He made that statement as he addressed an international conference in Miami, and said the oil-rich twin island republic has found itself

In 2008, When Hugo Chavez was repaid the $800 million that he had loaned to HOVENSA Oil Refinery to build the Coker Unit, he went back to Venezuela and told EXXON ( a U. S. company) to prepare the paperwork, because he was purchasing 51% of all of their Oil Interest in Venezuela for the people of Venezuela.
He would pay them market value, but if they refuse to sell, he would seize it all by EMINENT DOMAIN.
“EMINENT Domain” is an international law that says technically, that everything in a country belongs to the government. This is Socialism, which is almost opposite of Capitalism, which is the U. S. Governing System.
America was outraged (Trump administration) and even while America was accusing Russia of interfering with their election, they were putting sanctions on Venezuela, in an attempt to force MADURO (vice president of now deceased, HUGO CHAVEZ). TO stop Venezuela’s Election.
SANCTIONS mean that they FROZE EVERY ONE OF THE VENEZUELAN GOVERNMENT’s BANK ACCOUNTS IN AMERICA, and asked all the “yes-man” Allie’s to do the same.
Petro Caribe was one of these accounts.
Immediately, Venezuela went from being the richest country in South America, who used to give $billions to Brazil and Argentina plus others, to an impoverished country without fluid assets to provide medicine, food, salaries, and all other goods for the people of Venezuela.
Remember Juan Guido, a previously unheard of individual, who stood on a podium in some town square in Venezuela, in the presence of some press members and lord knows who else, and swore himself in as the President of Venezuela. Immediately, Trump declared him “The legitimate president of Venezuela, while MADURO was busy being elected by the people.
While MADURO was claiming that there was a plot to assassinate him in the making, $ 80 million of Petro Caribe money was later seized by the Haitian government at one of Haiti’s ports, along with the entire vessel (boat) with MERCENARIES, GUNS AND AMMUNITION on the way South. It is said that someone from the U. S. Embassy convinced the authorities that they were just accompanying the $80 million which was a gift to the president of Haiti. The gift was accepted and the mercenaries were set free. Not long after, the president was assassinated…
