The Antigua and Barbuda delegation had some commendable performances, even though they have not yet reached the podium.

In beach volleyball, both teams lost their first round of matches against the British Virgin Islands.

The men’s team then won against Turks & Caicos Islands, while the women’s team lost to Panama. Antigua and Barbuda received points when Suriname did not start their match, but the men’s team lost to Jamaica in their third match.

The women’s team lost their final match against St. Lucia, and the men’s team lost to St Vincent & Grenadines.

In boxing, Alston Ryan received a bye and won the round of 16 in the 63.5 kg category against the British Virgin Islands. However, he lost in the quarterfinals to the Dominican Republic.

In swimming, Jadon Wuillez reached the A final and placed 8th in the 50m breaststroke. He also reached the B finals and placed 5th. Stefano Mitchell set a national record and won the B final in the 50m freestyle, but finished 8th place and placed 14th overall in the 100m freestyle.

Noah Mascoll reached the B final and placed 14th overall in the 400m freestyle, and 23rd in the 100m freestyle. Ellie Shaw had commendable performances with a 10th place finish in both the 50m and 100m breaststroke, and a 13th place overall finish in the 200m breaststroke. Olivia Fuller placed 24th in the 100m freestyle and 22nd in the 50m freestyle.

In sailing, sailor Jules Mitchell and Team Manager Vincent Afni placed 8th out of 16 sailors in the ILCA7 competition. They were also awarded the best-emerging team, which could potentially earn them a wild card spot for the Pan American Games in October 2023.

Next up is athletics, starting on Monday 3rd with the 100m finals and semifinals featuring Cejhae Greene, followed by Darion Skerritt in the 200m on Wednesday. Cycling Road events will start on Wednesday with the Individual Time Trial, and the mass start Road Race will take place on Friday 7th, with cyclist Emanuel Gayral and Team Manager St. Clair Williams.
