A small eatery owned by Mr Wayne Friday was destroyed by fire in Yorks on Tuesday

Public Relations Officer of the Fire Department Inspector Lester Bagot said that at 5:15 am on July 11, the St John’s Fire station received a telephone call stating that a house was on fire in Yorks.

An immediate response was made in the No. 10 and No. 15 fire tenders.

On arrival at the scene, the fire crew met a building fully engulfed in flames.

Water was used from the fire tenders to control and extinguish the fire.

The size of the building was 36 X 48 feet and was constructed of wood concrete and galvanized.

It was owned by Mr. Wayne Friday and was used as a Fish fry and barbecue business.

The building along with its contents was completely destroyed. The Fire Brigade is investigating the origin of the fire.
