Family and friends of a man recently injured in an accident at Deep Water Harbour are banding together in prayer as their loved one’s condition continues to deteriorate in the hospital

On Tuesday July 18, left Denroy “Waka” Harrigan, a 59-year-old employee of a local shipping firm was pinned between a truck and a shipping container as the truck driver reversed, unaware of him opening the container.

A accident landed Harrigan in the Intensive Care Unit at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre where he is in critical condition.

And according to reports, there is no sign of improvement.

After undergoing surgery for severe injuries, Harrigan remains unconscious and on a ventilator.

There was a call for urgent blood donations on Thursday to aid his recovery.

Harrigan’s family is still appealing for the public’s support in donating blood of any type at the hospital.

In response to the incident, the Port Authority and shipping firms are collaborating to implement new safety measures at the port.
