The first Air Peace flight from Nigeria to Antigua and Barbuda arrived at the VC Bird International Airport earlier today.

This flight was a positive step towards building a connection between the twin-island nation and Nigeria.

On board were members of the Nigerian National Dance Theatre who will participate in various events during Carnival, according to the government.

Although there were fewer than 200 visitors, concerns have been raised about possible incidents based on past experiences.

Minister of Information Melford Nicholas confirmed that Allen Onyema, the Chairman of Air Peace, will be among the guests visiting Antigua.

The Antiguan Government hopes their engagement with Air Peace will bring LIAT 2020 shareholders closer to bringing the Nigerian airline on board as an investor.

Nicholas believes that this will allow LIAT to return to airports across the Caribbean, increasing the fleet of LIAT 2020 and giving consumers more carrier options to rely on.
