A search in the English Harbour area for missing elderly man Steadman Christian on Monday morning was unsuccessful.
Family members remain hopeful that a second search, to be held in the coming days, will yield better results.
His niece Sandra said the numbers on Monday were very vast as most people would have opted to join the carnival festivities instead.
“A few of us were out, but still nothing, this is just a mystery. For the looking, we have been doing since last Wednesday and the area is not large and we have been searching and nothing”, Sandra said.
“It’s just weird, the police also brought out the dogs to assist,” she added.
Steadman Christian, believed to be in his 60’s, was last seen on Thursday, August 3rd.
According to his family, while he is accustomed to leaving home at different times, he always returns home.
Anyone with information that could locate Christian is asked to contact 799-1997 that number again is 779-1997 or the Dockyard Police Station.
Meanwhile, the search remains ongoing at Summer Glo Lake of Piggott’s.
The 13-year-old reportedly left her parents’ home on Saturday, August 5 sometime after 8 pm to visit a relative in the said village.
It was further reported that she subsequently left that home and was not seen or heard from since. She was last seen wearing short black pants and a black blouse.
Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact the Parham Police Station at 463-2060.
