Intensive Search Underway for Missing Elderly Man

There is an ongoing search for a 76-year-old man named Winston Charles, who has been missing since Sunday.

He was last seen wearing a navy blue shirt, blue shorts, a black hat, and slippers.

A collaborative effort, involving concerned family members, well-wishers, and local law enforcement, has been launched to locate him.

On Wednesday, a search operation was organized in potential areas where Charles might have gone.

The search party combed through the vicinity of Liberta village, an area of significance as it’s where the missing man usually went for his morning walks.

The search operation took place between 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in hopes of finding any trace of Charles.

“We resumed at 3:30 starting at the Tamarind tree in Bethesda because people said they saw him in that area early Monday morning,” Charles’s daughter Lorraine Charles explained.

The search party moved to the Newfield area towards the Pot Works Dam after 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

The family and the police are urging everyone to stay vigilant and contact 771-3714, 724-0408, or the nearest police station if they see the elderly man.

Unfortunately, Charles is another person added to the long list of missing individuals in recent weeks.

The extended list includes Steadman Christian, a man in his 60s who went missing in English Harbour on August 3, 2023; Noah Hurst, a 24-year-old from Lightfoot who was last seen on May 23 this year; Kevin Millet Junior, an 18-year-old last seen on March 17, 2023; and Kevorn “Sardis” Bailey, a 26-year-old who was reported missing on August 27, 2022.
