A flash flood advisory is in effect for minor flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas of Antigua and Barbuda until 8 this evening.
The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services says this advisory means streams, creeks and drains may become elevated, or even overflow into streets and low-lying and flood-prone areas.
The Met Office says an area of disturbed weather is causing periodic heavy showers over the islands.

It says over 1.75 inches have fallen in some places in the last 3 hours and at least another inch is likely in the next 12 hours.
The area of disturbed weather causing the rains, is being investigated for tropical development south-west of the Leeward Islands.
