Court Orders Caribbean Airlines’ Pilots to Resume Work Following Industrial Action

Caribbean Airlines, also known as CAL, has received an injunction from the Industrial Court of Trinidad and Tobago.

The injunction orders pilots to return to work immediately and refrain from calling in sick.

CAL has experienced disruptions to its operations due to a shortage of cockpit crew, leading to several flight cancellations.

According to local reports, the airline’s pilots have engaged in industrial action after wage negotiations failed.

CAL’s attorneys filed an emergency injunction under the Industrial Relations Act on Sunday, and the court granted it early Monday morning.

The judges presiding over the matter deemed it serious and warranted urgent intervention.

The injunction restrains all Trinidad and Tobago Airline Pilots Association (TTALPA) members from participating in industrial action, including calling in sick en masse.

The association has denied taking strike action, stating that it is an essential service and barred from such actions.

CAL has issued press releases describing the problem as originating from cockpit crew constraints.

The airline assures passengers that their safety and best interests are top priorities.

The sudden flight delays and cancellations have caused chaos and inconvenience for passengers locally and internationally.
