The Antigua and Barbuda Yachting & Marine Association has announced its second annual Industry Showcase.

The event is scheduled for November 16th and 17th, 2023, and will be held at the Falmouth Harbour Marina.

President Franklyn Braithwaite said that the event’s first year was a great success, with many students and adults showing interest in the yachting industry. This year, they hope to see even more attendees from educational institutions and individuals interested in transferring their skills to the industry.

The Falmouth Harbour Marina, which is 100% owned by Antiguans and Barbudans, will host the event.

They recently constructed an additional super yacht dock in 2022 and are preparing for the 2023-24 yachting season.

Vice President of ABYMA, Bobby Reis, expressed their desire to showcase the industry, their members, and the marina to their citizens and international yachts arriving early for the winter season.

The showcase will feature various companies that depend on the yachting industry, such as sailmakers, engineering companies, provisioners, sailing training organizations, and boat builders.

Bobby added that a lot of effort is being put into developing pathways in the industry, and the showcase would be an excellent opportunity for people to learn how they can benefit from being involved in this lucrative industry.
