Jason Millette and Shalom Bailey are set to face a retrial concerning a 2017 homicide.

The charges against them relate to the tragic murder of 20-year-old Xavier Thomas on August 18, 2017.

Thomas lost her life in a fatal shooting incident when occupants of a vehicle opened fire on a restaurant in Cedar Grove, where she and several others had gathered.

The attack resulted in multiple injuries, including those sustained by Lorne “TI” Nicholas and Shane “Trooper” Matthew.

While Dorian Marshall, a resident of Donovans, was found guilty of murder in November 2019 for his involvement in the crime and subsequently sentenced to 40 years in prison, Millette and Bailey faced a legal impasse as the jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict in their cases.

The latest development came this week as the September assizes commenced, with an official trial date assigned for Millette and Bailey—December 4.
