The Ministry has taken the decision to close schools tomorrow

The Ministry has decided to close all schools in Antigua and Barbuda for tomorrow, Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

This decision is based on the tropical storm watch upgraded to a warning by the Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services.

The storm is expected to bring severe weather conditions from Tropical Storm Philippe that may cause storm-force winds.

The probability of storm-force winds is high, with a 90% chance for Barbuda and a 70% chance for Antigua, according to the Met Office.

In preparation for the storm, several public educational institutions are being activated by the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) to serve as shelters. These shelters will be open to the public from 6:30 pm onwards.

Please stay safe and take all necessary precautions to protect yourselves and your loved ones.
