Prime Minister Gaston Browne has fulfilled his promise to appoint Dwayne George as a Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance, despite his unsuccessful bid in the October 24th By-Election.
With his new appointment, George will be reappointed to Parliament’s Upper House and the Senate.
The Prime Minister had pledged to grant him the position if he emerged victorious in the By-Election but decided to go ahead with the appointment despite his loss.
George has expressed that his short campaign has enabled him to establish links and foster relationships that have prepared him for future elections.
He is confident that given more time, his opponent, Kelvin Shugy Simon of the United Progressive Party, would have been unable to stand a chance.
