Today marks the official swearing-in of Dwayne George as a Senator in the Upper House, alongside his appointment as a Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance.

The ceremony is scheduled to take place in the morning at Government House, where he will take the oath of office.

George, who was the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party’s candidate in Tuesday’s By-election, fell short to the United Progressive Party’s candidate Kelvin Simon.

Nonetheless, his impressive performance in the polls demonstrates his potential for the future, sending a clear message to the party.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne expressed his confidence in George’s ability to produce for the people, highlighting his qualifications and commitment to the development of the community.

He looks forward to working with him in his new capacity as a Minister of State in the Finance Ministry.

In a Facebook post, George expressed his gratitude to the remarkable people of St. Mary’s South for their support during the By-election.

He reaffirmed his steadfast commitment to the development of the community, stating that his goal remains the same as it was yesterday.

George also expressed his appreciation to Prime Minister and ABLP Leader, Gaston Browne, as well as the wider ABLP Family for their warm welcome and support.

He acknowledged the party’s gains in the By-election, stating that they have built on what was achieved by Samantha N. Marshall.
