Top tourism officials have been busy in London, wrapping up day one of the World Travel Marlet with interviews and meetings with several tour operators

The event will go on for three days and officials already had talks with several airlines including TUI, British Airways Holidays, Kenwood Travel, Carib Tours, Best at Travel, and Elegant Resorts, Steve Hartridge and TTG.

Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez led a delegation to London, to showcase the island at one of the premier global tourism business events, World Travel Market (WTM), in Excel London from November 6th to 8th.

The World Travel Market is one of the leading events for networking and collaboration within the travel sector, offering partners the opportunity to build new connections and update the industry on new products and plans for the future.

“World Travel Market is buzzing this year; everybody is here…It is a huge comeback from the pandemic…we are trying to ensure we can increase our summer lift next year…we will also be having a flight coming from Europe next year”, he added

Fernandez is accompanied by, ABTA CEO Mr. Colin C. James, Deputy Chairperson of the Board of the ABTA Mr. Alan Hosam, Head of Communications for the Ministry of Tourism Samoya Kirby, Tourism Astronaut Ambassadors Keisha Schahaff and Anastasia Mayers.

As a pre-WTM event the delegation attended the British Guild of Travel Writers Gala last evening (SUN).

The guild is the UK’s leading membership organization for travel media, with 250+ top tier travel writers, authors, photographers, bloggers and broadcasters.

WTM is now in its 42nd year.
