Antigua and Barbuda’s budget for the upcoming year has been announced, and it appears to be only slightly higher than the previous year’s budget.
The new budget has been increased by 5% and amounts to a modest $1.89 billion.
The Ministry of Education, Creative Industries, and Sports have been allocated $184.2 million from the budget, which is slightly lower than the previous year’s allocation of $185 million. Despite this, the ministry remains a significant recipient of the budgetary allocation.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Health, Wellness, Social Transformation, and the Environment has received the highest allocation of funds, amounting to $160.5 million. This marks an increase from the $147 million allocated to them in the previous year’s budget.
Overall, the budget for Antigua and Barbuda seems to be geared towards the development of the nation’s health and wellbeing, social transformation, and the environment while still ensuring that education, creative industries, and sports receive the necessary funding to thrive.
