Brief details revealed about Ricardo Drue’s Passing

The head of the management team in Antigua for Soca sensation Ricardo Drue has given a very brief insight into the day his body was discovered.

Josh Gardner in a Facebook post spoke publicly for the first time on Drue’s death that rocked the nation last Tuesday. Drue was discovered unresponsive and was rushed to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre where doctors tried their best to save his life, but to no avail.

In his post, Gardner spoke briefly on the circumstances before the discovery.

“On the 12th of December, I received a phone call from Drue’s Driver at about 11 am saying that he was supposed to pick him up Ricardo for an appointment, and when he got to the apartment, he realized that Drue was unresponsive. Within 10 to 15 minutes, I received the message. I arrived at Ricardo’s temporary residence at the Villa and seemed like I had just arrived a couple minutes after the paramedics.

“As I entered the premises, I saw Yusef Michael standing outside of the entrance. I went in, went in the bedroom and the paramedics were already working on him. They took him out, put him in the ambulance and rushed him to the hospital,” Gardner said.

He said after about an hour to half an hour the popular artiste was pronounced dead.

An autopsy will be carried out to determine the cause of death. Tributes have continued to pour in for Drue who is being described as patriotic and who dedicated his energies towards improving his talent.

Gardner is also expressing appreciation for the support the family and management team are receiving as they come to grips with his sudden death.

“It’s a tough flow to everyone. Anyone who knows Drue, knows that he was an amazing person and brought a different light in this world. I just want to thank everyone for the amazing support thus far”.
