Tammica Mendoza from the resort’s food and beverage department edged out five other nominees in her category to win the prestigious award.

The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority Awards ceremony recently took place, where Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa won the Rising Star award.

Tammica Mendoza, who works in the resort’s food and beverage department, competed against five other nominees to win this prestigious award.

She has had a remarkable year in her hospitality career, having been nominated for several Sandals Prestige Awards this year and winning the 2022 Sandals General Manager’s Prestige Award.

Mendoza expressed her gratitude and humility upon receiving the awards, saying that it was an honor to be nominated by Sandals and win at a national level.

She also encouraged her peers to remain focused and committed to their work within the industry, as passion always shines through.

David Latchimy, the General Manager of Sandals Grande Antigua, congratulated Mendoza on her win and expressed his appreciation for the other Sandals nominees.

The Tourism Awards are a part of the island’s tourism week and aim to recognize the best performers in the hospitality industry across several categories nationwide.:
