DJ Shatta Ratta was fined $22,770 yesterday after being found with a large quantity of marijuana at his Martins Village residence.

The discovery was made over the weekend when police turned up to the home, he shared with his girlfriend with a search warrant on December 29.

The 36-year-old, whose real name is Rasdolvon Phillip, was found in possession of $7590 of weed and $850 worth of hashish.

A sum of money was also found, which the police believed to be proceeds of a crime.

He was therefore charged for possession of the drugs and possession with intent to transfer the controlled substance.

His girlfriend, Kyla Martin who lives with him was also charged but he took full responsibility for the drugs.

On the other hand, she was found to be selling alcohol without a license and was charged in that regard.

The DJ admitted to possession but not intention to sell. He was given three months to pay the fine or he could spend 6 months in prison.

His girlfriend denied possessing the drugs but owned up to selling liquor illegally. She was however let off with merely a conviction on her record.
