The late soca sensation, Ricardo Drue, who passed away unexpectedly on December 12, 2023, will be laid to rest today following a funeral service at the Holy Family Cathedral on Michael’s Mount.

The funeral is scheduled to commence at 1:00 pm, drawing attendance from family, friends, and members of the entertainment community in Antigua and Barbuda, possibly reaching beyond.

Drue, a beloved figure in the soca scene, was a prominent presence at Carnival events and hosted his show as part of the official Carnival program for the past two years.

His death has reverberated with profound impact, sending shockwaves not only throughout Antigua and Barbuda but also across the wider region. The funeral service, carded for 12:30 pm, will be broadcast live on media outlets in Antigua and across the Caribbean.

The family has also noted that there will no viewing and no burial following the service.
