There have been reports of a rent fraudster who seems to have targeted another victim, this time in the Cashew Hill area.

The fraudster, who continues to use the same surname, is now employing a different first name to carry out his fraudulent activities.

According to a reliable source, the latest victim reported to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) that he had been defrauded of a total of $2,600 in cash.

The incident allegedly occurred on January 2nd of this year in Cassada Gardens, while the other two incidents took place back in 2023.

Like the previous victims, the Cashew Hill man had seen a notice on Facebook advertising a house for rent.

He contacted the person whose information was posted with the ad and made arrangements to meet the alleged landlord to make the necessary payments: the deposit and the first month’s rent.

However, after the victim had transferred the money to the supposed landlord, he was unable to reach him via phone or social media.

The victim’s attempts to contact the landlord were all in vain, and he eventually realized that he had been scammed.
