Education Minister Daryll Matthew

Education Minister Daryl Matthew and Director of Education Clare Browne are on an official trip to Chile.

They are attending an extraordinary meeting with Ministers of Education from Latin America and the Caribbean. The meeting, known as “Ministerial of Education: Santiago 2024,” is scheduled for January 25 and 26, 2024.

The primary objective of this event is to discuss and share experiences in public policies that promote the reactivation, recovery, and transformation of education.

The meeting will serve as a catalyst for achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) and will address education financing.

The discussions are expected to have a significant impact on 33 countries, affecting approximately 125 million students and 6.9 million teachers.

This meeting is a crucial platform for sharing ideas and experiences on the best practices in education policies.

The discussions will help to identify the challenges faced by the education sector and come up with innovative solutions to improve the quality of education.

Finally, this event will be an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of cooperation between countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, furthering the cause of education in the region.

These meetings are co-organized by CAF Bank, the World Bank, ECLAC, and UNICEF.
