On Tuesday, Captain Ladell Havey made history by becoming the first captain in the world to skilfully guide and berth the largest cruise ship in the St Kitts Pier.

The sheer size of the ship made it a challenging feat, but Captain Havey’s expertise and precision made it look effortless.

Fun fact: Captain Havey’s father is from Antigua, and his mother is from St Kitts.

Before joining the cruise industry, he served under my sub-unit command in the Antigua Barbuda Defence Force and later joined the St Kitts Police Force.
