Last Friday, a large number of people attended an “open house” event organized by Elms Bridge, a real estate developer company led by Brian Dobbin.

The event showcased one of the several high-end luxury houses that the company plans to complete over the next few years as part of their new development project called “The Beach Houses.”

The development is situated on a four-acre beachfront property on the northern side of Falmouth Harbour in Antigua and Barbuda.

Dobbin explained that their company is an international property developer and seller that specializes in developing properties and selling them to buyers in major cities such as London, Toronto, or New York.

Although they do not sell to people on the island, they do a lot of marketing off-island to find potential buyers.

Dobbin also revealed that their company has made a significant financial and personal commitment to the island and currently employs around 20 people, most of whom are from Antigua and Barbuda.

The development project is utilizing local staff for much of the work on the property, and many of the building products are also manufactured locally.

“The Beach Houses” is a small development of only ten high-end homes, and the company is selling them to international buyers.

Dobbin mentioned that four of the ten houses have already been spoken for, and three others have potential buyers.

Despite being delayed due to COVID-19, Dobbin predicts that the project will be completed within 24-30 months, with an overall investment of approximately US$30 million.

Meanwhile, Senator Rawdon Turner, the Director of Architecture for the company, announced that they recently won the Best Residential Development for the Americas award at a ceremony held in London.

The success of the project is a collaboration between several companies, including Elms Bridge and Rawdon and Associates, as well as a number of local contractors and suppliers who have contributed to the development’s success.

The doors, windows, bathroom fixtures, and concrete roof tiles used in the project were all manufactured and sourced locally.

Senator Rawdon also praised the skills of many building and supply trade workers in Antigua and Barbuda who have played a crucial role in the development’s success.
