Housing Development on Louie Hill Will Continue Despite Pushback
Cabinet convened to address the construction of new homes in Barbuda, specifically at the Louie Hill site.

While the boundaries of the Louie Hill site have been established, officials noted that detailed surveys of the blocks and parcels have yet to be completed.
The Cabinet reached a consensus that these surveys will be conducted progressively, ensuring that all necessary assessments are in place before proceeding further.
Furthermore, the Cabinet stipulated that the removal of vegetation must align with a defined survey plan to protect the local environment during the development process.
The project is set to include a total of 200 homes, complemented by a shopping mall and various other amenities, the specifics of which will be finalized through ongoing negotiations.
The Cabinet’s discussions signal a significant step forward in addressing housing needs in Barbuda, aiming to enhance the island’s infrastructure and community offerings.
