The University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus is all set to introduce five new programs to its list of Undergraduate Degrees by September 2024.

The new programs include Psychology, Sports Coaching, Sport Kinetics, Pharmacy, and Generative Pharmacy, all of which will be Bachelor’s Degrees offered by UWI FIC. Dr. Adeola Matthew, the Recruitment Officer for the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus, expressed her excitement for these new offerings.

According to Dr. Matthew, the increasing prevalence of mental health issues has motivated the university to offer a full degree in Psychology rather than just a minor in the School of Business and Management.

The new program will train students to become mental health specialists capable of tackling various mental health problems.

Another program being introduced is Generative Pharmacy, which involves the use of Artificial Intelligence. The UWI FIC recognizes the importance of this field and has added the Bachelor’s program to its list.

This program will help address the shortage of pharmacists in the country and make pharmacy more efficient and safer.

The Generative Pharmacy program will enable pharmacists to use a patient’s medical history, analyze the general prescription, and make critical decisions in collaboration with a physician to ensure the suitability of the cocktail prescribed.

If you’re interested in these new programs, you can visit the campus website to learn more about the application process and admission requirements.
