Committal delayed again for woman who allegedly knocked down and killed police officer

A new committal date was assigned to the woman the woman accused of causing the tragic death of Police Constable Robert Dyer in a collision last year.

Dayneri Ferrer Vincent-Urlwin will be appearing in court on May 28 following the latest of a few adjournments in the Magistrate’s court.

Vincent-Urlwin is implicated in the incident involving her Jeep Wrangler and Dyer’s motorcycle on September 4, 2023, resulting in the untimely demise of the officer.

The collision occurred around 11:20 am, leading to Dyer’s official pronouncement of death at approximately 12:45 pm.

According to reports, Dyer was traveling from east to west on Sir Sydney Walling Highway when the accident transpired, involving the Jeep traveling in the opposite direction.

The collision took place as Vincent-Urlwin made a right turn into Luna Park, colliding with the officer, who had recently overtaken some vehicles.

Currently out on bail, Vincent-Urlwin is awaiting the resolution of her case.

    This was an unfortunate accident and while my condolences goes out to the family, friends and loved ones of the deseased ruining this young lady’s life by sending her to prison or worse is not right nor is it justified.
