Money Allegedly Stolen from Safe at Resort; UK Couple Wants Answers

Ongoing investigations are being conducted into the reported theft of money from a couple’s at a local resort

According to sources, the stolen money was taken from the safe.

The resort’s receptionist later reported the matter to the Freetown Police Station.

The couple, from the Uk,  had reportedly been staying at the resort since their arrival on March 1 and were preparing to leave the island on March 8 when they discovered that a considerable sum of money was missing from their safe.

This incident is believed to have occurred sometime between March 5 and 7.

Upon their arrival at the resort, the visitors were assigned a room that featured an electronic four-digit combination safe.

The couple then proceeded to place their jewelry, US$1,000D, and EC$100 into the safe at around 9 a.m. on March 2, only to receive an “error” code.

Maintenance personnel were later summoned to assist in locking the safe, and the combination code was reset.

The couple subsequently embarked on a trip around the island, and it was at around 6 p.m. on March 5 that they returned to their room to access the safe. It was then that they discovered that US$745 and the EC$100 note were missing.

The electronic safe had been placed inside the clothes closet room, and the money had been stored in envelopes, according to allegations made by the couple.

However, upon conducting checks on the safe and the room, there were reportedly no signs of either having been tampered with.
