3.7 earthquake recorded near Antigua and Barbuda

An earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale was detected in the northeast region of Antigua and Barbuda this morning.

According to the UWI Seismic Research Center (UWI SRC), the quake occurred at a depth of 22 km at around 11:46 am, local time.

The earthquake’s epicenter was located in Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, about 37 km northeast of the area.

The quake was also felt in nearby regions, including Brades, Montserrat, and Point-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, which are 90 km and 119 km northeast and north of the epicenter, respectively.
