The man, who served as the only voice representing the main opposition, the United Progressive Party (UPP), in Parliament for almost five years, is confident of his chances of regaining leadership during the upcoming vote in April.

Speaking in an interview on Twin Island Pringle said, “To me, it is about focusing on the issues, focusing on what it takes to build a strong organization and I will continue to be that person whether or not the leadership goes in my favor which I am quite sure it will,” Pringle said.

Pringle will contest the leadership race against Member of Parliament for St John’s Rural West Richard Lewis.

Speaking specifically about the challenge for leadership, Pringle said he sees this more as a very positive development.

“I believe in democracy, and I believe in fair play and this type of democracy only shows the strength and the maturity of the organization,” the political leader said.

He also notes that the outcome of the leadership race will not affect his dedication and responsibility to the party.

“I will serve in any capacity within the organization once I am asked and I do not have to be asked. The United Progressive Party is a party that I love dearly and I will do anything in my power to see the longevity of the United Progressive Party,” he said.
