Antigua and Barbuda’s reigning Queen of Carnival and 2023 Jaycees Queen, Ischikelle Corbin, journeys to St. Maarten today to represent her island in the upcoming Miss SXM Carnival Caribbean Queen Pageant.

Scheduled for April 23, 2024, the event will see Corbin compete against six other contestants from across the Caribbean.

In a heartfelt message to her supporters on social media, Corbin emphasized the deeper significance of her journey, highlighting the importance of self-exploration and personal growth amidst the glitz and glamour of the pageant world.

She expressed gratitude to her homeland, stating, “In the midst of this focus on self, there’s one constant companion on my mind – YOU, ‘Antigua and Barbuda.’”

Corbin’s path to the regional competition follows a stellar year in 2023, where she left an indelible mark on the local pageant circuit.

Her standout performance in the Queen of Carnival competition, where her captivating monologue resonated with the audience.

Subsequently, her participation in the Jaycees contest further underscored her natural talent and prowess, copping the winning title again.

Now, poised to represent her country once more on another platform, Corbin emphasizes that her journey transcends mere victory.

“This journey also isn’t just about reaching a destination or capturing the crown. It’s about the incredible transformation that happens along the way.

“It’s about putting my best foot forward and embracing challenges, seizing opportunities, and uncovering my true potential,” she said.
