Plans are well underway for the 2024 Caribana festivities on the sister island of Barbuda.

The eagerly awaited four-day event, running from May 16th to 20th, serves as a lead-up to Antigua’s carnival, offering a vibrant mix of excitement, food, and outdoor activities for visitors and residents.

Public Relations Officer for the Caribana committee, Adonisha Charles, shared some details about the lineup.

“The festivities kick off with the opening ceremony, where revelers take to the streets in a burst of energy, followed by Caribana City events. Later in the evening, there’s the Mr. and Miss Teenage Pageant, featuring seven contestants who promise a night filled with intellect, talent, and a vibrant showcase of Barbuda’s culture,” Charles said.

Charles also mentioned that the lineup will include several unconventional events to add diversity to the program.

“Notably, a cultural show will replace the traditional Queen Pageant. Throughout the weekend, vendors will have the opportunity to sell food, providing small business owners a platform to gain exposure during the Caribana weekend,” Charles said.
