E.P. “Chet” Greene, the Foreign Affairs Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, has issued a statement condemning the former Puerto Rican legislator, José Aponte Hernández, for making false and unfounded allegations against his country.

In a recent outburst, Hernández accused Antigua and Barbuda of developing their infrastructure as part of a military strategy by China, alleging that their airport is used for the landing and take-off of Communist Chinese bombers.

The Minister has refuted these claims, stating that they are baseless and appear to be crafted to promote Hernández’s long-held desire to annex Puerto Rico to the United States as a state.

He emphasized that Antigua and Barbuda is a world-renowned tourism destination that welcomes many of the world’s leading airlines and cruise ships, bearing hundreds of thousands of US citizens annually, including officers of the US Embassy.

Not one of these entities or individuals has ever corroborated Hernández’s outrageous and highly malicious claims.

The Minister went on to explain that Hernández’s assertions are grounded in a sensationalist article written by a known ardent anti-China advocate in the publication Newsweek.

Hernández demonstrated a profound disregard for the truth by not seeking to ascertain the facts before uttering his falsehoods against a neighboring country, thereby calling into question his credibility as a responsible leader in Puerto Rico.

Despite this, the Foreign Minister of Antigua and Barbuda has demanded that Hernández ceases using unfounded and libelous statements against their sovereign nation.

He urged Hernández to focus on constructive and truthful discourse, rather than propagating falsehoods that serve no purpose other than to promote his political ambitions at the expense of the people of Antigua and Barbuda.

The Minister emphasized that his country remains committed to stability and prosperity in the region, fostering relationships based on respect and mutual benefit.

They stand strong against any efforts to undermine their nation through deceit and manipulation and will continue to uphold their values of democracy and freedom.

Chet Greene needs to look within his own backyard first before going and cussing anyone in another country. The one in your backyard needs more cussing than Puerto Rican politicians false allegations.
