Last evening, the V.C Bird International Airport’s runway lit up with a vibrant hue as a pink Silver Airways plane made its inaugural direct flight from Puerto Rico.

Greeted by water cannons, passengers received a warm welcome from tourism officials who presented them with special tokens in celebration of this milestone

This marked a revival of direct connectivity between Antigua and Puerto Rico, a connection that was affected by the pandemic and previously available through Seaborne Airways, later acquired by Silver Airways.

Now said to be better than ever Silver Airways is offering flights as low as US $99 operating on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

For travelers on this route, departures from Puerto Rico are scheduled around 5:05 pm, arriving at VC Bird International Airport at 6:35 pm. The return journey from Antigua and Barbuda is set for 8 am, reaching Puerto Rico by 9:30 am.

Specializing in daily scheduled flights between key gateways in the southeast US, Florida, and the Bahamas, Silver Airways is owned by Versa Capital Management, a private equity investment firm based in Philadelphia.

The airline’s headquarters is in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with a maintenance facility located at Orlando International Airport.
