Flash Flood Advisory Remains in Effect

Antigua is currently under a flash flood advisory until 5 PM today due to atmospheric instability over the northeast Caribbean.

The advisory warns of minor flooding in low lying and flood-prone areas, with streams, creeks, and drains possibly overflowing into streets and causing some inconveniences.

Although property damage is expected to be minimal, it’s important to note that just one foot of flowing water can sweep vehicles off the road.

While the flooding is not immediately life-threatening, motorists should be cautious and avoid flooded roads whenever possible.

Heavy showers are expected to continue for the next 2 hours, causing low visibilities that could make commuting hazardous.

The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services will continue to monitor the situation and release updates as necessary.
