Prime Minister Gaston Browne has announced that starting from July 1st of this year, the minumum pensioners payments will increase to $1000.
The Minimum is now $850.
Additionally, the Prime Minister emphasized that public servants can also expect routine salary increases, reflecting the positive growth and strengthening of the economy.
These measures are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to support and uplift the financial well-being of retirees and public servants alike.

Allow me to make a Statement and to Explain My Reasons for believing that THIS Increase (in a small % of Pensioners Salaries) is Spoken of to “ Curry Favour” with Pensioners ONLY because of the FACT that Opposition Members in the Lower House Stated —- that they will accept NO INCREASE on their Salaries until OUR PENSIONERS are Taken care of ……
I will believe these 2 Promises made by the Government herein (to some Pensioners and Some Civil Servants) only when I Actually See these Promises Occur …….
Promises, Promises, Promises that are Seldom Kept …..
The Administration has Already Declared That IT Sees the CONTRIBUTIONS made by Our Senior Citizens throughout their working Lives as LESS IMPORTANT Than Filling Up The Cabinet Members “Already Filled Pockets”; Plus Topping Up Other Areas of Their Benefits to the Extent of > 200% (I am told) ……… And then have the NERVE To Give Themselves BACKPAY For A Year ……… SICKENING……..
It is also alleged that at the time when “The Increase Amounts” had already been placed in the Cabinet Members Accounts ….. Nothing was Placed into the Accounts of Opposition
Members……… It is alleged!!!
It was only after THIS Fact (that All Cabinet Members had Already been paid This Increase in their Salary — I am Told — Was LEAKED), that the Opposition Members in the Lower House made A Public Declaration that They will Not Accept Any Increase in Salary UNTIL The Pensioners are Given an INCREASE in Their Pensions ……
We Have A Government Administration that ALWAYS places ITSELF ahead of the POOR where WEALTH is concerned……. Let’s wait with Bated Breath to see what happens on July 1st with the Pensioners Increase…..
Folks (Cast your Minds back) remember when the UPP Took over the Government Administration in 2004 — The VERY FIRST Action Taken was to REDUCE Parliamentarians Salary by 10%. Why was THIS done???

It is ONLY A $250.00 Monthly Increase (per Pensioner) for Those Pensioners who are being Paid $850.00 presently!
What is the Percentage of This Group of Pensioners among the Total Pensioners receiving Social Security Pensions ………
Can an Investigation be done to ascertain whether there are ANY Pensioners presently receiving A Social Security Pension that is LESS THAN $850.00 Monthly ……..
The Manner in which Words are written (if not Read correctly) can present A VERY Warped Picture …..

My only concern, sad to say, is the situaton of pensioners who fall outside this current $850.00 threshold? Will they also get an increase of $150 on their pensions as well? If not, then that move is unfair and I’ll be inclined to subscribe to the views on the REAL reason(s)/motives of this pronouncement by the PM. Clarification please!
