Rapper Nicki Minaj said Saturday that police in the Netherlands discovered marijuana in her bags as she was preparing to leave the country for her next concert.

Nicki Minaj shared on social media that she experienced a delay at the Amsterdam airport while attempting to board a flight to Manchester, England for a concert.

According to her tweets, the police informed her that they discovered marijuana in her luggage and needed to weigh it. While cannabis is technically illegal in the Netherlands, it is tolerated for recreational use.

A spokesperson for the Netherlands military police, Robert Van Kapel, stated that a 41-year-old American woman had been taken into custody for attempting to export “soft drugs.”

However, the spokesperson did not disclose the woman’s identity or specify the type of drugs involved. Subsequently, the police tweeted that they had imposed a fine on the woman and subsequently released her.

In response to the incident, Minaj, who is 41 years old, expressed her belief on Twitter that the police intentionally aimed to delay her arrival at the concert in Manchester.

“Told you, it’s to try to make me late so that they can write negative stories. Jealousy is a disease. You know the rest,” Minaj tweeted.

The Trinidadian-born rapper is best known for her hits “Super Freaky Girl,” “Anaconda,” and “Starships.” She has been nominated for 12 Grammy awards over the course of her career. The Manchester concert is part of her “Pink Friday 2” tour, which includes stops in Paris, Poland, Germany, Romania, and Switzerland.
