Good friend posts birthday message
It was a busy birthday week for William as he had just flown back from Germany, where he had been in attendance at England’s draw with Denmark in their Euro 2024 fixture the previous evening.
In her own post the 34-year-old singer wrote on the accompanying caption: “Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start.”
Love for London
Almost 90,000 fans packed into the north London Stadium on Friday, with queues forming before daybreak.
Swift called London – where she spent a significant period living in her earlier career days – “the most exhilarating city in the world”.
Busy schedule
After three concerts on successive nights in London, the talented artist will head to Dublin and then onto Europe. She will be back in the UK capital for five more shows in August.
The singer recently announced that the tour – which began in March 2023 and taken in the US, Asia, and South America – will come to an end in December. She called it the “most exhausting, all-encompassing, but most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing that has ever happened in my life”.
Major economical boost
Estimates suggest that her tour dates in the UK capital alone have boosted the London economy by over £300m, so maybe the break from tradition by the royal band was a little thank you for what she is doing for the city.

The Prince of Wales received a memorable 42nd birthday snap when he had a selfie taken with Taylor Swift backstage, ahead of her first of eight Wembley Stadium gigs, taking place between now and August.
William was in attendance on Friday 21st with his two eldest children, 10-year-old Prince George and nine-year-old Princess Charlotte. The Princess of Wales stayed at home with their youngest child, Prince Louis.
The singer posted a separate picture with her boyfriend Travis Kelce joining in; then to demonstrate how much of a fan the Prince is of the superstar singer, he was captured on film dancing in a very “dad” fashion to her upbeat hit: Shake It Off
Earlier in the day, the Royal band entered into the spirit of the moment by introducing their own version of the smash hit song into the traditional Changing of the Guard ceremony outside Buckingham Palace.
Swift has been taking her Eras Tour across the UK with shows in other major cities such as: Edinburgh, Liverpool and Cardiff, taking fans through her catalogue of hits from albums 1989, Red and Midnights.
Prince lets his “heir” down
It was hard to see who was more thrilled at the concert, the two youngsters, or the future King of England! Kensington Palace who posted the selfie shot and added the caption: “Thank you Taylor Swift for a great evening!
Prince William and the pop icon have known each other for over a decade. Back in 2013, they both took to the stage at a charity event to perform Livin’ On A Prayer with Jon Bon Jovi.
