The voter turnout in the ABLP primary in St. Phillip’s North was truly remarkable, with over 900 voters showing up after accounting for claims and objections.

This exceeded the 615 votes received by the UPP candidate in the 2023 General elections by a significant margin of 50 percent, totaling 300 additional participants.

This outcome reflects the growing influence of the ABLP.

Four candidates are vying for the spot which is now being held by Sir Robin Yearwood Snr.

Whoever replaces the stalwart, will have major shoes to fill as the politician has decades of victories under his belt having never lost a general election.

His son, Robin Yearwood Jr will hope to walk in his father’s footsteps but there will be tough competition from Randy Baltimore, Dr. Oswald Thomas, and Telly Cornelius.

Dr. Oswald Thomas Needs to go and sit down and give the younger generation a chance. It would be their future and their children. We the older ones done messed up Antigua and Barbuda so let the younger ones built back up or destroy also. For me, I believe once you hit 50 to 55 years old just turn over the politics to the people age below. That’s my philosophy.
