Tributes Pour in for the Prime Minister’s mother Patricia Richards

Condolences are pouring for the family of Prime Minister Gaston Browne and others close to him on the passing of his mother Patricia Rose Richards earlier on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister Wife Maria Browne confirmed the passing of her mother-in law.

In a social media post, Mari said, “My heart is heavy.  God has purpose for all of our lives and in hers, he placed an extraordinarily important one. Immensely grateful for this lady who nurtured her family despite her challenges, instilling in them priceless values – giving her children all she could. she is the true definition of resilience and strength.”

 

Later in the day the Prime Minister himself shared, “Soldiering on in grief on the sudden passing of my dear mother, Patricia Rose Richards. Love your mom; may your soul rest in peace and rise in heaven”.

Chairman of the Antigua Barbuda Labour Party, EP Chet Greene, earlier penned a letter of condolence on behalf of the party.

It noted “We extend our sincere sympathies and unwavering support during this profoundly difficult time.  the loss of a parent is a profound and life-altering experience and we can only imagine the depth of your grief. your mother’s unwavering love, guidance and support have undoubtedly played an integral role in shaping the leader and person you are today.”

Residents have been registering their sympathy for the prime minister and his family.
